Introduction
Century Rose Bed and Breakfast is located in downtown Escondido, a quaint and diverse community. We are just a short distance from the California Center for the Arts and wonderful dining experiences. Abundant antique stores and over 15 restaurants are within walking distance.
Our bed and breakfast features three bedrooms that share a bathroom. The bathroom features an oversized shower and clawfoot bathtub. The rooms, named after roses grown in the garden, are decorated with a rose theme and furnished with antiques. Breakfast is served in the dining room complete with a fireplace. The orignal house was built in 1892. Bill and Nancy Benson purchased the house in the fall of 1992 and begun an extensive renovation of the property.
Escondido is surrounded by many golf courses, including The Vineyard, a PGA course located three miles away. The San Diego Zoo Safari Park is situated in the San Pasqual Valley just six miles to the east. Temecula, with its many wineries and antique stores is a half-hour drive north on the I-15 freeway. We are only 25 minutes from the Pacific Ocean and nearest beach (Oceanside) which is great for spending the day. If the desert is of interest to you, the Anza Borego Desert is a scenic 90-minute drive. At an hour away, Julian, an old mining town offers that "small mountain town" feel and often has snow during the winter months. There are also a number of gambling casinos in the area and for shopping, Westfield Shopping Mall. One of the largest indoor shopping malls in California (please note: all pictures will enlarge if clicked on).
